I would highly recommend this song for The do-it-yourselfer who does a lot of projects. I put this song to the test by framing up a 2400 square foot basement, as well as some other projects. It is an excellent song. But like any circular saw, I have to recommend that you use a Diablo or DeWalt blade. I also use the larger battery. I would consider this saw a high level amateur saw, or a low-level professional saw. When you factor in the price, you are getting a pretty darn good tool for the money. very durable, but I would recommend getting a good blade for any saw that you purchase. I have a second home in Florida and I bought a second one of these for my toolbox over there.

I abuse this thing - I use it primarily to cut down scrap lumber, break down pallets etc. so I can haul them to the dump. Also used when I need a light circular saw (say cutting a rafter tail while standing on a ladder). This saw clearly has less power than my corded saws but with a thin kerf blade it does just fine if kept reasonably straight in the cut for 2X4 and under. Probably not for precise work, the metal seems to have flex in it and it doesn't follow a speed square well.

The cut does not align with the guide, its off a saw blade thickness. The saw is woefully weak in the power department. The blade guard plastic is weak snd floppy. I was expecting better, I have PC 18 Ga. Nailer, and stapler, drill, and jig saw, heat gun, all perforn flawlessly.

Glad I purchased this saw. Great price. First job I handled was a 2 x 10 x 12 foot hard wood board that I sawed into sections. The saw did great and this is serious hard wood I sawed through with ease. And I like the red line that shines in my marks where I want to cut. Im happy with mine

I didnt like the blade it came with, so I switched it out with a Diablo blade and it works amazing! Ya cant see the red laser line out in the sunlight, but great for working indoors with little light. Cheap plastic guard. Wish it was made from a stronger material. Does the job for quick home improvement. Defenetly get a better blade if you plan on doing a lot of cutting. Again ya get what ya pay for.

Best hand saw I've ever used! The blade is sharp and it literally cuts through 3/4 inch ply wood like a knife theough butter. Highly recommend. The only constructive feedback I have is this: there is a safety feature that requires that you press the saw into the piece if wood to expose the blade while it's spinning and you're lining up the cut. There is a dual trigger to begin a cut and depress that spring to expose the blade. The process of pulling both triggers, silmutanuously, is a bit tricky.

I haven't cut sheet metal or PVC with this saw but I'm sure it'll do it fine. My only gripe about cutting wood is the limited saw depth which doesn't allow for cutting all the way through a 2 x 4. It leaves about 1/8" of wood but that amount can be easily done with a hand saw.

Great portable saw with plenty of power to get the job done. I used it to build a 700 square foot deck and it didn't disappoint. As long as you have good batteries charged this saw is a beast! I have 4 18 volt 5.0 Ah batteries and the saw worked well, but it really shined when I used a 12.0 Ah battery. I highly recommend using one of those if you're planning on doing a lot of cuts, but the smaller batteries do a great job as well.

As this is the only other worm gear saw I have used I have nothing to compare it to. I have used it heavily and it is much better than the old skill saw I had. I got used to it quickly and was able to use it with one hand which was nice. My understanding is that it is easy to get parts for these and that they will last a really long time. It came with a blade or two and everything was of good quality. You will need to add the gear lube when you get it.

Super handy and pretty accurate. Update: July 7 2019 I dropped the stupid thing and it hit a corner of the base. That corner got bent upward but after checking the angle and checking to see if it still sits flat on the guide it works and cuts well. I put tape over the big opening used to remove the blade and it helped collect more of the sawdust.

I'm a builder/woodworker with 40 years in the trades. Like most Makita tools I own (30 + tools) this is a solid tool. It's great for the Arts & Crafts style case work I do, compounded post with the tilt lock is so easy, as is beveling doors. Compared to my FT TS, cut quality is the same, more power, more of the things I use and less of the things I don't. Good all around.

I couldn't be happier. My table saw is now my boat anchor. The Makita track saw cuts real nice straight finished grade cuts on the 3/4 inch finish plywood that I am working with. Love it! It is now my go to saw. I made an 8 foot guide out of 1/2 inch finish plywood instead of purchasing a second rail for ripping sheets in length, I may buy more rail later.

I needed a cordless saw to make simple cuts in difficult places. This one does the job quite well. Anyone who expects a battery-operated rotary saw to cut all day long is wishful thinking. None of them will replace a corded model for significant projects, but this model will handle awkward or short tasks just fine. I can't speak to the accuracy of the laser guide since I don't rely upon that feature.

Owned a Rigid, which I thought I liked. Then I used it for several large projects and realized that the blade elevation had issues. Purchased this DeWalt, which I thought I liked, then I have been using it on project after project and am realizing - I do like it. Its a little heavier, but the blade elevation works and is just accurate. Moreover, its solid. The saw tears through 2x sheets of 3/4" inch plywood using the worn out blade from the Rigid? What more could I want - I mean other than my money back for the Rigid?

My prior circular saw was a worm-drive saw by another manufacturer with a different shape. It was very hard to push through the cut, even with new blades. So I decided to return to the 'traditional' circular saw design, and love it. This saw has a blade lock for changing blades, a long power cord, blade guard, and two adjustment bolts for the depth of cut and the angle of cut. The saw rips through 3/4" plywood easily. I haven't tried it on anything thicker.

I have borrowed circular saws from friends for various projects and decided it was time to get my own. I did a good deal of research, and ended up spending the extra money on the Dewalt. It is light weight and cuts smoothly. Some of the circular saws I borrowed were budget saws, and even a novice like myself can tell the difference instantly. I am glad I spend the extra money for a tool I'll have (hopefully) for years to come.

I’m a 72 year old with some arthritis in my wrists, but I still like to do projects. My big Skill saw was getting to be a pain...literally. This Bosch saw has totally exceeded my expectations. For 95 percent of what I need a saw for, it can handle it just fine, with smoothness and accuracy. Battery power is unexpectedly a great convenience. And the lighter weight really makes a big difference. I will keep my Skill saw for those few ocassions when only it can handle the task. But this Bosch is my all time favorite power tool.
